Mancelona is located in Antrim County, in northern lower Michigan.
Spring has finally made its way. In late April and during May, we should be seeing some morel mushrooms popping up. The opening day of trout season is the last Saturday of April. Traditionally, children and their families gather at Johnson's Pond, our locally-owned village pond on Danforth Street, for a morning of fishing. The Village of Mancelona provides free hot dogs, chips, and beverage.
Our annual Bass Festival is scheduled for May 20-24, 2026 - a little earlier than normal. It's Memorial Day week-end, from Thursday through Sunday.
On Monday, May 25, the community will gather downtown at 9:00 a.m. for the annual Memorial Day parade, led by the American Legion George Puckett Post #264.
On the business side, Mancelona has experienced some growth and home-town pride. Our downtown area is flourishing with new businesses including retail, dining, and a fitness center on the way. Our 2026 Lunch on the Clock events are set for April, June, August and September. LOTC is similar to Business After Hours, but held during the lunch hour. Enjoy a delicious lunch while hearing a guest speaker's presentation on interesting, helpful topics. Planning to attend? Registration is required. Have a look at our line-up, here. The public is invited to attend.
As always, we'll feature several fabulous bands during our 2026 Summer Celebration series. The concerts are held outside, downtown in Triangle Park by the clock. There's no charge to attend.
